Lladro “Vigen Nina” Little Girl Porcelain Bust by Fulgencio Garcia #12024

Lladro is a Spanish porcelain art company famous for their figurines and sculptures. Three brothers, Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro founded Lladro in 1953 creating jugs and vases. A few years later Lladro started creating statues they are now famous for. Gres, a type of ceramic stoneware made from clay, sand, feldspar, kaolin and ground colored pigments, was being used starting in 1970 in creation of their sculptures. They now had an earthy quality which was quite popular in the Seventies.

This bust was created by Lladro and entitled “Vigen Nina” (Little Girl). It was designed by Fulgencio Garcia, a Spanish artist who worked with Lladro from the early 1950s. The Lladro trademark on the underside of the bust shows that it was produced between 1971 through 1974. The statue is excellent used condition with no cracks, damage or stains and stands 13 inches tall.
