About Us

Rare collectibles, statuary, art glass & more.

From a blog post I did in May 2006:

It was about 6 weeks ago or so, I was travelling to the local big K-Mart of the region with my 2 teens when we stopped by a tag sale – couldn’t miss it cause a group of wholesome teens were jumping up and down waving signs “Help Our Church Trip” or some such.

I have had a life long love / hate relationship with tea pots. I collect them when I can but not too many… just ones that I think are pretty. I started working with Collectible Antiques Etc this year and have picked up quite a bit of knowledge about China – not the country but the porcelain – of the antique type of course. I had just finished editing an article on Wedgwood the day before the KMart trip….

So we pulled up the long drive to the really nice house of the church folks giving the tag sale. My eyes wander around the tables and darned if not one of the first things I spotted were 2 Wedgwood plates…or so I thought. I casually went and turned over one of the plates… Trentham Wedgwood 1922 was on the back

Talk about drool worthy – I asked how much for the plates?

The nice woman said “50 cents for both” . They are both in excellent condition. Beauties. In the past 6 weeks I have accrued boxes full of porcelain. My average cost is about 20 cents per item.

Remainders and inherited items that no one else wants.

My husband and I just finished an inventory of most of them last night: A Royal Mail set, Americana plates, Stratfordshire, Johnson Brothers…I have gone mad for China.

Since I cannot keep them all, I plan to start selling some of them.

So now I will become a vintage and antique dealer as well. Hazzah! – Denise, May 2006
